The first time we've sojourned to Pollara we have been spellbound from the quiet, the clear air, the magnificent sunsets and so many kinds of animals that dwell here. "It's like living in an island in the island!"
Pollara is very different from other places and preserve the charm of a past that still belongs us. During winter it's lived from a little community. The first Sunday of June, the "festival of the caper", an appointment that put to work all women of country to make dishes, rigorously of capers. The grounds in Pollara are cultivated to capers according to ancient tradition and the malvasia wine which is produced using only the best quality of grape and workmanship procedures that are handed down by father in child.
The house has a long history. It belonged to priest's family, contain a very furnished library and was the greatest and central house of the country. Unfortunately not much of it has remained, but our attempt has been to maintain the fundamental characteristics of the structure, recovering the ancient "palmento" and the patio "bagghiu" surrounding the house.
"So, we've realized our dream to live, at least for a part of the year, in Pollara; what we offer, besides the services, is our cordiality and availability because yours should be... the vacation that desire!"
Each room has a mini-bar, air-conditioning, a TV and a private patio area in which to relax.
The breakfast buffet is available until whenever you get up. Homemade cakes and jams are a specialty.
